Like many of the world's great winegrowing regions, Coonawarra's climate is cool and marginal. This rejuvenating climes ensure a long ripening period that slowly builds up the intensity of flavours in the grape. The Riesling fruit here makes a wine exhibiting richness, intensity and depth of flavour with an excellent capacity for longevity. Wynns Coonawarra Estate constructs a Riesling that captures as much varietal character as possible in a fresh, light bodied, easy drinking wine. The fruit is harvested and inoculated with choice yeasts. Upon completion of ferments, batches are treated to a term of cold settling before assemblage into the final wine, bottled immediately whilst vital and fresh.
Pale green hues with hints of light straw. Crisp lemon aromas, the nose leads into white flowers and rich honeysuckle, fresh green apples are complimented by lifted floral notes. Gentle white floral and citrus notes balance out over the palate making a soft, approachable wine. Sherbet acid livens up the palate to give a refreshing finish.
