Just a few kilometres north of Lowburn, near the windswept shores of frigid Lake Dunstan, atop the parched and laborious terroirs of Central Otago, a high country merino stud between the Amisfield and Parkburn streams was sown to vineyards two decades ago. Grazing country makes magnificent viticulture, the austere alluvial and glacial schist soils now yield the quality of Pinot Noir which has defined Central Otago as the world's most demonstrable marque in full bodied, intensely complex, yet beguilingly seamless Pinot Noir. The challenging terraces which spiral around the fractious knolls of Amisfield Vineyard, sire a sensational range of wines defined.. Satiations from the nethermost regions»
There are fewer than twenty hectares of Stefano Lubiana vines, overlooking the spectacular tidal estuary of Derwent River. Chosen for its felicitious winegrowing aspects, it is a place of scrupulously clean soils, free of any pesticides or manufactured treatments. Insects are welcome here, they are mother nature's endorsement of a holistically biodynamic viticulture. Lubiana is a fifth generation winemaker, one of the apple isle's leading vignerons, he works to an arcane system of seasonal chronometers, governed by cosmic rhythms, the turning of leaves and angle of the moon. His wines are given full indulgence to make themselves. Ferments lie undisturbed.. Celestial wines from southern climes»

The 1890s brought boom years to the nascent Aussie wine industry, as connoisseurs throughout Europe and the Empire were introduced to the Dionysian delights of new world Claret by Tyrrell, St Huberts and Wirra Wirra. The Taylor family acquired the fallow farm in 1995 and brought St Andrew's vines back to life. At the end of the 19th century, the phylloxera plague reached the vineyards of Champagne. The House of Henriot was one of the first to reconstitute vineyards with grafted stock. Henriot cultivates a very particular style, the pursuit of perfection. It chooses the best wines from the best Crus demanding the most careful work in the vineyard and from the cellar workers. In addition to its own vineyards, Henriot purchases grapes from growers in the best terroirs. Pinot Noir from Verzy, Verzenay, Avenay, Mareuil and Mailly. Chardonnay from Chouilly, Oger, Avize, Mesnil, Vertus and Cramant. Each year, about a third of reserve wines are incorporated in the Cuvee, ensuring the consistency of the Henriot style.
Beautiful gold colour with persistent sparkle and fine bead. Medium bodied with a pleasant nose and complex, tangy orchard fruit. Impeccably balanced and harmonious and refined, the definition of sophistication.
