Jim Barry was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry, the first academically qualified winemaker to take up Clare Valley viticulture in 1949. He had an uncanny intuition for good land and established some of the most illustrious vineyards on the continent. Jim Barry is also a patriarch of the Coonawarra, in pursuit of the perfect terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon, he planted vines on the ancient Penola Cricket Oval, preserving the original pavilion for posterity. Established 1968 by Word War II flyer Egerton E.S Dennis, on ninety acres of McLaren Flat along the prestigious winegrowing terroirs at Kangarillla Road, the Dennis family pioneered the production of Mead alongside colleague and enthusiast John Maxwell. Dennis initially sold his harvests to some of Australia's most eminent brands before founding his own label in 1971,with the object of converting the high quality fruit into pure, estate made wines. Since establishment, Dennis Wines have collected hundreds of medals at national and international wine shows, twice claiming the revered Bushing King awards for best wine at the McLaren Vale Winemakers Exhibition. Gary and Nick Farr are father and son, they make wine together but arenít afraid to go head to head when their opinions differ. Nick grew up amongst some of the world's most sacred vineyards, he knows about the land and found a magnificent little site, barely east of Lake Colac. Irrewarra is the vigneron's shangri-la, prepared for viticulture by generations of grazing and eons of the sobering south sea breezes, which stimulate vines to yield meagre harvests of parched little grapes, sleek of tannin and rich in flavour. Vintaged in excruciatingly limited lots, there are fully two styles of Irrewarra on offer, a grapefruit and oyster shell Chardonnay, a Pinot Noir of pasture and of place, both finished to delight the senses and to excite the most inscrutable.. Jim Barry Annabelle Rose CONFIRM VINTAGE

Grenache Clare & Coonawarra South Australia
The Jim Barry vineyards have claimed countless prestigious international awards over the course of decades. Jim Barry, the man himself, had an uncanny eye for terroir and established some of the most precious sites in Valley Clare. Annabelle is a recent addition, carnation pink, lifted red summer florals and fruit, a burst of raspberry and touch of savoury spice, a refreshing line of acidity over fine, chalky textures. Fashioned from the pick of Clare Valley Grenache, a precociously pink drink to accompany Al fresco, prosciutto on fig, escalopes of rare salmon and all rose hued fare.
