Kooyong Estate only make limited editions from tiny blocks of vine, a hectare or less, which yield deeply personal wines, highly eloquent of their terroir, aspect and clime. There are the pebbled ironstone soils of Farrago, which create an uncannily Burgundesque style of Chardonnay, redolent of grapefruits, mealy bran and wet flint. The precious half hectare at Faultline articulates the savouryness of seaweed and struck match. The sheltered lee of Haven Block encourages the grapes to bloom with chewy red jube characters. The windswept parcel at Meres infuses wonderfully perfumed rhubarb and ribena notes into a velvetine tannin structure. All are equally remarkable for their individuality, they speak of little places, husbanded to artisanal winemaking practices, the most wonderful expressions of Mornington... Venerable vintages from the most precious parcels»
There are but two winemakers who can lay claim to a staggering four Jimmy Watson Trophy victories. Wolf Blass was the man behind the label. John Glaetzer was the man behind Wolf Blass. While working for Wolf, Glaetzer was moonlighting on his own brand, applying the same extravagance of technique to the pick of Langhorne Creek fruit. Perfection in the form of black bramble fruit, muscular yet affable tannins, all framed by the luxury of ebony oak. Aspirants of the great Black Blass Label fables of 1974, 1975 and 1976, are privately advised to avail themselves of John's Blend, Cabernet or Shiraz. Crafted from the same parcels, in the same way, by the same hands, that collaborated to create, the most celebrated triumphs in the history of our nation's highest accolade, thrice winners of the exalted Jimmy Watson Memorial.. Timeless mystique of langhorne creek»

Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blanc CONFIRM VINTAGE

Chardonnay Champagne Reims France
Like an uncut diamond, the Chardonnay grape lends its sparkle to the Ruinart wines. In the constant pursuit of perfection, the Ruinart House excels in the art of handling this very special grape variety. Made exclusively from a sophisticated and delicately balanced blend of 100% Premier Cru Chardonnay from different years, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is smooth and rounded on the palate. A balanced wine with a beautiful luminous pale gold colour, enhanced by the elegance of the clear bottle. A perfect summer aperitif champagne, delectable sipped by the pool or on a sunny terrace.
Chardonnay, the dominant grape variety used in all Ruinart cuvees, is the very essence of the Ruinart taste. Grown in the Cote des Blancs and Montagne de Reims vineyards, this exceptionally high quality grape lends all its finesse, elegance and purity to the Ruinart champagnes. Over time, the exceptional qualities of the Chardonnay grape continue to work inside the Ruinart bottles and enable the champagne to be kept in optimum conditions. The remarkable qualities of the Premier Cru Chardonnay grape have given rise to what is now commonly called Goût Ruinart, an inimitable universally recognised taste which develops aromatic complexity over time.
Golden yellow, very fine long lasting pearl. Clean, intense first nose, rich notes of brioche, French toast and roasted almonds. Very supple and harmonious palate, well balanced, rich and suave with soft honey flavours, minerality and a long sustained finish. Chardonnay illuminates Ruinart, heightens the sparkle and imparts characteristic regal splendour.
